“Summer makes me drowsy. Autumn makes me sing. Winter’s pretty lousy, but I hate Spring.” Dorothy Parker

I love autumn. I love autumn. I LOVE autumn.

And here’s why.

Catching up with friends. Getting the wellies out, going for walks. Throwing logs on the fire. Making big pots of minestrone, drinking delicious wine. Seeing Skyfall. Never ending places to see in London. Hatching Hibiscus plans for 2013, getting excited about life in general. Waiting for my samples to arrive in the UK. Back to the pub.

I took myself off to Stourhead this week while I was staying with my friend Steve (official keeper of my wardrobe in Hadspen, Somerset) I lucked upon one of the four times a year the National Trust open the cellars and attics of the main house to the public and had myself a real Upstairs Downstairs/Downton fix. The grounds are spectacularly beautiful right now. The trees pumping out their final colours, their skeletons starting to show.  Heaven. Makes me want to watch Barry Lyndon.
