“It’s a small world, but I wouldn’t want to paint it.” ― Steven Wright

Morning to you.. Can I say I felt yesterday’s Goa blog post was a bit of a cop out, having not done one for 3 months I barely scraped the surface, there was a lot to say but time was not on my side, I’m off this lunchtime on a 10 day meditation retreat to refresh the O’keefe psyche and reassemble my super powers in readiness for the UK next month. The plan was to remain calm and  get into the state of mind that 10 hours of meditation a day would require of me (I haven’t meditated longer than 45 mins in my life and that was guided!). All was calm at the Diggi Palace, rose petals were scattered along the drive way for the Holi festival, who was I kidding? Me calm when there were trays of hot pink powder paint in readiness to throw at anyone you fancied?!

I didn’t get into full pink, green, blue meltdown because I was due to visit an orphanage in the afternoon with my friend Florence and Molly where true paint carnage would have ensued but at the last minute there wasn’t enough room in the car, so after lunch at the Mandawa Haveli I took myself back to the Diggi to enjoy a last night of movie watching and blog posting before all contact with the outside world is removed from me later today.

I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t  nervous about the meditation but apparently the benefits are supposed to far outweigh a few days of direct self reflection… arrrrgh..no remain calm O’Keefe.. will be back to you after 29th March when it will be time to finish off my samples and bring them back to London… X
