This last month it’s been solved by unpacking, painting and decorating.
A rubix cube shift in my plans has delivered me to a neglected barn, my new home in Somerset. I should be in India finalising orders for next years stock but no, I’m fondling paint colour charts and gazing longingly at reclaimed light fixtures on ebay.
What are the odds? My neighbours in Spain, Andy and Antonia, moving just 2 minutes down the road from my temporary home in Somerset?? Feeling so comfortable in each other’s company and having travelled to Burma with them last year it’s a given, we’re global family. At dinner they cunningly persuaded me to take a look at the abandoned 3 bedroom barn next door, move in and take up my mantel as their rightful neighbour here in the UK… so the pause button has been pressed while I establish my UK O’K HQ and dig deeper into the delights of Somerset.
Never one to pass up an impulsive life decision I’m now weighing up how to incorporate my creative pursuits into my new found West Country existence. My friends are relieved to see me put down some roots and empty my storage unit.
After 12 nights of witch tittingly cold, sometimes sub zero temperatures in the barn (found out the gas meter had been removed) aching muscles from emptying the storage unit, scrubbing, scraping, painting and tiling, I’m finally installed happily in my new home and have turned my gaze to the new year and what lies ahead.
Come on and show me what you got 2015! XXX
